Open.  Burning a fire in a Heatilator zero clearance firebox with closed doors could reach a temperature approaching 10,000 degrees and fires can eventually start at temps as low as 200 degrees and cause closed doors shatter. Tempered glass is not meant to withstand temperatures that high.

Look for a model number on a metal plate inside your firebox opening. Then measure the length and width of your firebox opening.

Replacement Heatilator doors are 4 glass panels hinged together that attach to an existing track that runs along the top of your firebox. No, but replacement screens can be purchased as an add-on option.  The  replacement mesh curtains come with a rod to attach to your  firebox. The other option is on the EZ Door Plus, it has an option to purchase actual mesh doors that attach to the fireplace door frame and open like cabinet doors. The replacement mesh curtains and mesh doors can keep sparks from popping out of the fireplace or be used just to add a decorative look to the fireplace. We have lots of good information here.

If you have stone surrounding your Heatilator firebox, look to see if the stones jut out into the opening of your firebox . If so, the doors will not fit into the firebox opening.
